$ 3IATLAS
                       A marvel in our time.
Mystery and cosmic wonder!

Initially provisionally named “A11pl3Z”, the third interstellar object to grace our solar system - 3I/ATLAS, is here.

                    Our Cosmic Information
3I/ATLAS perhaps holds the key to enhance our understanding of the universe.
1. Discovery
July 1, 2025, 09:42 UTC; First detected by the Asteroid Terrestrial-impact Last Alert System (ATLAS) telescope at Haleakalā Observatory, Maui, Hawaii; Operated by the University of Hawaii and funded by NASA’s Planetary Defense Coordination Office
2. Anomalies so far
- Excessive brightness and implied large size/mass. Likely over 5 Km across.
 - Precise alignment with the ecliptic plane. Less than 0.1% probability of this happening.
 - Unusual chemical composition (high CO₂, low H₂O, traces of CO and H₂O ice. Suggesting formation in a dry, carbon-rich extrasolar environment.
 - Nickel enrichment in coma (high Ni/CN ratio, no iron); Similar to industrial nickel alloy.
 - Extreme negative polarization. Suggesting metallic composition rather than ice as normal comets.
 - Anomalous sunward "anti-tail" jet. Inconsistent with normal geometric projection. Might suggest propulsion capabilities.
 - Inbound direction alignment with Wow! Signal. Trajectory originates within ~9° (0.6% chance) of the 1977 Wow! Signal direction (RA ~4°, Dec ~8°), speculatively linking to potential extraterrestrial radio bursts.
 - Non-gravitational acceleration at perihelion. Post-perihelion (Oct 29, 2025) trajectory shows deviation from pure gravity, implying outgassing or propulsion; magnitude exceeds expectations for its size by factors of 1,000–10 million, with modest ~10 Earth radii displacement over a month.
 - Blue appearance and forward "headlight" emission at perihelion. Displayed a blue glow from the front (sunward side) without a traditional tail; possibly ionized CO or artificial lighting; lacking "cometary stripes."
 - Speculative radio pulse sequence at 1420 MHz. Unverified claims of structured signals (hydrogen line frequency) during solar conjunction (Oct 21), interpreted by some as communication or "mothership" probes; no confirmed artificiality. Pulse followed mathematical/ universal language.
 - Suspicious timing. Arrived at a moment optimised to pass near Mars, Venus, and Jupiter (0.005% likelihood).

The Loeb Scale (Astronomical Classification of Interstellar Objects)
Based on the criteria for extraterrestrial technological artifacts. Natural, or sentient alien? Scale key: Towards red is increasingly showing signs of extraterrestrial intelligence.
| Level | Color | Significance | Key Observable Criteria | Current Status |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 0 | White | Insignificant | Consistent with known natural phenomena. | |
| 1 | Green | Normal Natural Variation | Minor deviations, likely natural variations. | |
| 2 | Yellow | Meriting Attention | Non-gravitational acceleration exceeding cometary models. Single major anomaly in trajectory, composition, or morphology. | |
| 3 | Yellow | High Confidence Anomaly | Multiple persistent anomalies across observable categories. No satisfactory natural explanation after a comprehensive analysis. | |
| 4 | Yellow | Anomaly Meeting Potential Technosignature Criteria | Inconsistent with known material taxonomy, including anomalous spectrum inconsistent with solar reflection. Deviation from Keplerian hyperbolic orbit. | ★ |
| 5 | Orange | Suspected Passive Technology | Unusual speed. Strong, persistent indicators of artificial, non-operational origin. Surface composition inconsistent with cosmic-ray bombardment. | |
| 6 | Orange | Suspected Active Technology | Level 5 criteria plus at least one of the following: Signs of being operational (e.g., maneuvers, signals); Trajectory changes incompatible with gravitational or outgassing models. | |
| 7 | Orange | Suspected Active Technology with Unclear Intent | Level 6 criteria plus at least one of: Responsive behavior to observations; Signals of unknown purpose; Operational intent that cannot be determined or appears potentially hostile. | |
| 8 | Red | Confirmed Technology (No Impact) | Direct investigation confirms extraterrestrial artificial origin. Impact trajectory with no collision. | |
| 9 | Red | Confirmed Technology (Regional Impact) | Confirmed extraterrestrial artificial origin. Impact trajectory with regional consequences. | |
| 10 | Red | Confirmed Technology (Global Impact) | Confirmed extraterrestrial artificial origin. Impact trajectory with global terrestrial consequences. |
